Happy Birthday Dad (Robert)
Posted by: Dan on Sunday, February 13, 2011 (17:43:06)
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Happy Happy Birthday To You!
A special birthday wish to my Dad.
Every Birthday our family sings two songs. The traditional Happy Birthday song and a shorter version of Disney's Happy Birthday song. Shorter because it evolved overtime to not include some of the original lyric. And just because it's hard to find this lyric without all the trickery of the web, I have included it here.

When I first met you all those years ago,
I fell in love so fast, I knew right then,
You were the one and only one for me;
I'd never have to look for love again.
Each anniversary finds us happier;
You are my light--my moon, my star, my sun.
You show me what real love is all about,
You fill my life with pleasure, joy and fun.
As time goes by, our love grows stronger still.
You're the most amazing (man/woman) I ever knew.
I prize our anniversaries because
Each year I fall in love again with you. read more ...

Uncle Ed has passed away.
Posted by: Dan on Sunday, January 23, 2011 (11:00:25)
Edward Mestayer (my Uncle) after many months of illness in and out of the hospital had decided to discontinue dialysis treatments. Doctors estimated he would have a week of consciousness followed by a week of coma. We all are very saddened but supportive of his decision. He passed away peacefully just after midnight on Thursday January the 27, 2011 just a little more than 5 days after his last treatment.
Uncle Ed is the inspiration whom sparked the knowledge and curiosity to shape the person I have become. At an early age, Uncle Ed introduced me to electronic components, computers, photography and camping. I will miss him very much.
Update: A memorial video is now available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXrUpnL8NpY
A memorial is tentative for Saturday the 5th of February 2011. If you would like to attend and require the details of the time and location, please contact me by email or phone using this link: http://www.mestayer.net/Contact.html

Uncle Ralph Dunhower has passed away
Posted by: Dan on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 (09:22:46)
Ralph was very devoted to his family. He drew great joy from doing activities with the family, camping, barbecuing, hiking in Yosemite, talking after dinner.
We will all miss him dearly.
Facts: In the early 1950's he immigrated and settled in the United States from Fankfurt Germany. He worked hard and was able to use his degree in Economics as a successful executive for Bank of America for 28 years. From there he established a family and was devoted to them for a lifetime.
Friday the February 19th 2010 at 1:00pm there will be a Funeral Mass for Ralph Dunhower. The Funeral Mass will be at St Stephen's Catholic Church, 1101 Keaveny Ct, Walnut Creek, CA 94597 www.saintstephenparish.org
After the Mass, Ralph will be taken to Queen of Angels cemetery followed by a family get together at the church hall.

Happy New Year
Posted by: Dan on Sunday, December 27, 2009 (19:08:06)
“Father Time is not always a hard parent, and, though he tarries for none of his children, often lays his hand lightly upon those who have used him well; making them old men and women inexorably enough, but leaving their hearts and spirits young and in full vigor. With such people the gray head is but the impression of the old fellow's hand in giving them his blessing, and every wrinkle but a notch in the quiet calendar of a well-spent life.” - Charles Dickens read more ...
